Studio Rental Rules

  1. Maximum of 16 people in the studio with any booking.

  2. Once booked a session can not be cancelled. It can be rescheduled if you give more than 7 days notice. Sessions will not be rescheduled with less than 7 days notice.

  3. We are a on time studio. You will be allowed into the studio at your start time and must have a clean & reset studio by your end time. Running over your scheduled time will result in a fee of one additional hour and continued lateness will result in termination of membership and any subscriptions/sessions. Your session must end on time even if there is no session after you.

  4. Sessions may be extended if there is no session after by rendering immediate payment for the desired additional time.

  5. Anything potentially messy must be approved. Messy examples are glitter, body painting, water, mud, oil, snow, etc. Additional cleaning fees will apply.

  6. Partnership subscriptions and first time rentals will have a studio chaperone on site without exception.

  7. Any studio rental may have a studio chaperone. This decision is up to Opelika Art Factory.

  8. The member who made the reservation must attend the session. The member who made the reservation is responsible for the well being of all rented equipment, props and wardrobe. The member who made the reservation is responsible for the safety and well being of all people and equipment on their set.

  9. Renting the studio only gives you access to the studio. Renting the terrace gives you access to the studio to the terrace. You can not rent the terrace without renting the studio. There is no studio rental that gives you access to the office space. If anyone in your session accesses the terrace or the office space without permission this will be reported to the authorities as criminal trespassing and your membership and any outstanding subscriptions will be terminated.

  10. First-time renters are required to receive a short orientation to the studio and the equipment. You should allow 15 minutes for this in your shooting plan.

  11. You are required to remove all trash from the studio when you exit the studio.

  12. Do not stand, run, sit, etc. on the curve of the cyc wall. It is hollow and won’t support weight. If the cyc wall is broken during your session you will be responsible for the costs of repair.

  13. Clients are responsible for all damages caused during the rental. These charges are at the discretion of Opelika Art Factory.

  14. Clean up fees will be applied if the studio is left in an overly messy state including props and equipment not put away, water, body paint, glitter, elements left on floor, etc. This is at the Opelika Art Factory’s discretion.

  15. Studio furniture and props are available only if paid for as part of your rental or as part of your subscription or session fee.

  16. Props including furniture and wardrobe may be used if included in your subscription or paid for separately as part of your rental. You are expected to leave the studio as you found it.

  17. Do not enter studio spaces without permission from the staff. Opelika Art Factory staff may enter any part of the studio at any time.

  18. Audio and Video Productions: We are not a soundstage. We can not control the ambient noise inside the building as we have office space that may be occupied at any time. You may also encounter room tone, the sound of rain on the roof, and sounds from outside. We would suggest you only engage in audio productions that do not require the noise attenuation of a soundstage. A site survey is recommended if you’re unsure of your requirements.

  19. Your reservation must include all the time you need to set up, shoot, clean up, and vacate the studio. You cannot enter the studio early, and you’re expected to vacate your studio no later than the time your reservation ends. This allows everyone’s shoot to begin on time. You must leave on time even if there is no session booked after your session

  20. SETUP: You are responsible for setting up your shoot including but not limited to lighting, paper, and equipment.

  21. SAFETY: You are responsible for ensuring the safety of your clients and participants.

  22. FOG MACHINE: A fog machine is allowed in the studio. Fog must be cleared thirty minutes prior to exiting the studio.

  23. ANIMALS: Must have written consent from Opelika Art Factory. All animals must have a handler at all times. The handler must have this as their sole position for the shoot.

  24. MINORS: Persons under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian with them at all times.

  25. MESSY SHOOTS: Loose glitter is accepted only if you pay a one hour cleaning fee. Any shoot that may become “messy” including but not limited to wax, glitter, oil, water, mud, food, snow, etc must be approved with Union 206. Additional cleanup fees will apply.

Membership Rules

  1. Breaking any membership rule will result in immediate termination of your membership. If your membership is terminated then any active subscriptions would be cancelled with no refunds issued. Any remaining separately paid sessions with be cancelled with no refunds issued.

  2. Do not be a creep. Members who are creeps will have their membership terminated.

  3. You are required to respect the race, creed, gender and sexual orientation of all participants in your session as well as all people in the studio, offices or terrace. If you do not your membership will be terminated.

  4. Our member directory existsfor members to easily be able to find talent that they need for paying opportunities or for artistic development opportunities. This is not a dating app and if you are attempting to use it as such your membership will be terminated.

  5. Members who are not active in the community will be terminated.

  6. Members who are habitually late or no call/no show will be terminated.

  7. Members who do not meet their obligations (paying people they promised payment, not delivering pictures in a timely fashion, no call/no show, habitual lateness) will be terminated.

  8. This bears repeating: Members who are creeps will have their membership terminated.
