Week Five: Forgotten
So week 5-8 will go towards winning the November prize, which again is a $200 gift card to Cameragraphics. Your entries for this week need to be taken this week. Submitting entries that were taken before this week will result in your membership being terminated.
The goal of Project 52 is for you to approach photography with joy, to learn to look at things a little differently. So I’m going to try to focus us on being intentional photographers in November.
This weeks assignment is to take a picture of something old. Maybe rusty and dusty, maybe overgrown. Find something that looks like time has passed it by and shine a new light on it. Why do I think this is a step towards intentional photography? Because I believe there are so many things that our eyes just “skip” over and your photography becomes better when you see everything. So often we are looking for a special set of circumstances and conditions to make a picture, but there are pictures all around us and we just have to be willing to capture them. Make your entry shine a light on a thing or person people no longer see.
Don’t forget to tag the studio (@opelikaaf) and to use this weeks hashtags: #OpelikaAF #OAFProject52 and #Week5Forgotten
Recapping the rules:
Only studio members can win. So get your absolutely free membership.
Only one entry per member, per week will be scored
This is four week in a competition that will run all of November, the prize will not be awarded until December. Entries for this week must be submitted by 8 AM November 4th
All prizes must be picked up in person at the studio. If you don’t live near here I don’t know that you will want to compete but you are welcome to.
Prizes are not transferable or saleable.
Your entries should be shot the week of the contest. Entering work shot prior to that week will disqualify you from future OAF contests and may result in termination of your membership.
This prize will only be awarded if there are at least 10 different nonemployees entered in the contest this month.
Thats it, see you out there.
