Week Six: 24 Tries

So week 5-8 will go towards winning the November prize, which again is a $200 gift card to Cameragraphics. Your entries for this week need to be taken this week. Submitting entries that were taken before this week will result in your membership being terminated.

The goal of Project 52 is for you to approach photography with joy, to learn to look at things a little differently. So I’m going to try to focus us on being intentional photographers in November.

's harken back to the days of yesteryear when you only had 24 tries to make a picture.

This weeks assignment is the weirdest one to date. I want you to remember the days of film. You see when you think about it one of the best things about digital photography is you can take as many pictures as you want. But when you don’t think about it the fact that you can take as many pictures as you want makes you care less and think less about each picture.

And because it’s digital we typically manipulate the picture to death to make a mediocre picture less mediocre. But if you are old enough somewhere you have a Polaroid of you and a friend, someone is over exposed, someone is not paying attention, and you still love it. YOU learned to live with it and love it.

Because I want you to be intentional this week take one session and during that session only take 24 or fewer pictures. Don’t do anything to the pictures in post, don’t run them through any filters. Take 24 attempts to get the picture you want and live with the results. Learn to love the things you see.

Don’t forget to tag the studio (@opelikaaf) and to use this weeks hashtags: #OpelikaAF #OAFProject52 and #WeekSix24Tries

Recapping the rules:
